La Cava Mexican Bar & Grill – Authentic Mexican Flavors & Warm Atmosphere in Waterloo, IA

Great atmosphere with excellent service, especially from Olivia! We had a large party and everyone enjoyed their meal. I especially loved the shrimp ceviche!

We loved it here first time coming I brought my daughter here for her bday they song happy birthday to her made her feel special and my kids enjoyed the meal so much we will be back again thank you Jackson family

I very much enjoyed my visit to La Cava Mexican Bar & Grill! I visited this wonderful restaurant with a friend. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was so prompt and friendly. We were served delicious chips and salsa right away, as well as our drinks. My friend and I both ordered the Burrito Vallarta, which is a chicken and seafood burrito! As shown here, the burrito is HUGE!! I easily took half of it home. It was absolutely AMAZING! Very flavorful with plenty of yummy chicken, shrimp, seafood, and veggies! And I have to say that the rice was also quite fluffy and delicious (coming from someone who normally doesn't care much for the rice, that is a major compliment!). I was very impressed with this restaurant. It was very clean with a warm ambiance, the service was wonderful, and the food was incredible! I have to say that La Cava is one of my new favorite restaurants and I will definitely be back!!

I had the Burrito Chile Colorado and a tamale. The sauce that comes with the burrito has a real nice flavor and heat to it. The steak in the burrito is chopped steak which makes eating the burrito a lot easier. The rice and beans were pretty dang good as well. The tamale was as good as you're gonna get around here. From the food to the atmosphere this place is definitely one of my favorites now

Update: Stopped in for Easter lunch with the kids and grandkids. Excellent food and service again. Past Update: Wow!!! We were impressed today. This was our first visit, and will be followed by many more. I had the Califoria Burrito with mixed steak and chicken. Both meats were supper tender, seasoned and cooked to perfection. My spouse had the Enchiladas Mexicanas and she said they were also amazing. From the tender and well cooked meat to the sauce and Wraps. We also tried the fresh guacamole and it was so fresh and delicious. We also liked the chips, salsa and queso cheese dip. The interior of the business is clean, modern and very inviting. The staff were all very friendly. I have rated our visit 5 stars across the board. If you haven't been here stop in. On Ridgeway Ave. in Waterloo, Iowa.

Seriously the most beautiful burrito I’ve ever seen. I was staring at it the whole time and kept telling my boyfriend, “that looks SO good.” He said the steak was well-seasoned. My birria tacos were pretty good and very filling. The food was tasty, but I have to admit that the service was a little iffy, which was kind of weird since we went around 4:00 on a Monday when it wasn’t busy. We weren’t sure who our sever was since 4 different employees checked in/waited on us throughout our visit. The service didn’t really detract too much from the experience- just something I noticed. Overall, we had a good meal, and I’ll definitely be back to try their specialty margaritas.

The restaurant itself is really nice. We were seated right away and received chips and salsa immediately after. The server gave us plenty of time to order as it was our first time there. My group of 5 ordered the GF enchilada trio (x2), queso blanco for the chips, flautas, birria quesadilla (requested no cilantro) and kids pizza with fries. Everything was great! We enjoyed seeing what other groups ordered too! Large burritos, and fancy drinks! Fajitas smelled amazing! Will definitely be back
